Financial News from Wireless Companies

T-Mobile International reports revenue of 10.9B driven by U.S. growth
T-Mobile International reported total revenues of 10.9 billion for H1 2003, an increase of 18.9 percent from 9.14 billion in the same period last year. The carrier reported 17 percent revenue growth in Europe and 23 percent growth in the U.S. Its total number of subscribers grew 19 percent, with Europe growing 14 percent and 43 percent growth in the U.S.

MobileInfo Comments and Advisory: T-Mobile appears to be a welcome exception in the current volatile cellular market. It does demonstrate that on its own, wireless operators can grow their revenue and profits. It is the albatross of its unwise investments, inflated auction prices and huge marketing extravaganza in a cold market environment that did other operators so much damage that they are taking so long to recover.
