An undisputed leader in adopting innovative products and services, CityCab was the first to introduce luxury taxi services, credit traveling and computerized payment system. It was also the first to launch a multi-million dollar satellite-based computerized taxi dispatch system called CityNet.

Under this initial agreement, CityCab will purchase 1000 MC 1790s with radio and supporting PathFinder software enhancements. PathFinder is one of the most versatile dispatching software in the market today and CityCab has been using it since 1998. The MC 1790 is Digital Dispatch's most advanced mobile computer with built-in GPS receiver, color touch screen display and internal magnetic card reader.

"The additional mobile data terminals will allow us to meet the growing booking demand for our taxis. The new software enhancements will improve our operation, enhancing our service to our customers," said Edwin Yeo, General Manager, Customer Contact Centre of CityCab.

"With CityCab's decision to use the MC 1790, we are now able to bring this advanced mobile computer to the Asian market," said Dale Mortimer, Vice President of Marketing for Digital Dispatch. "It has been just over two years since we launched our series MC 1700 mobile data terminals and we have had tremendous success since then. This product was first adopted by very large European taxi operators like Taxi Stockholm and Taxis G7 of Paris. They alone account for over 5000 units," he continued, "and in the last 12 months, we have begun deploying the MC 1790s to North American taxi fleets. Yellow Transportation Group of Baltimore and LA Taxi Co-Op are two North American industry leaders who chose the MC 1790. It has also entered other vertical markets in North America including paratransit, ambulance and roadside assistance services. We hope that the MC 1790 will be equally popular in Asia," Mr. Mortimer said.
