1. Bell South Gives Up on AT&T Wireless

Talks between BellSouth Corp. and AT&T Corp. to merge collapsed Tuesday, signaling the end to another round of discussions held since 2001 among the phone giants to possibly combine, The Wall Street Journal reported today. 

Atlanta-based BellSouth had been in discussions to buy AT&T, but keep the AT&T name, but BellSouth resisted over the price as the merger talks deepened, the Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter. 

Revenue at AT&T, the No. 1 long-distance phone company, has declined for 15 consecutive quarters in the face of technology substitution and cutthroat competition in its consumer services unit among other pressures. 

Any merger between AT&T and BellSouth would face stiff scrutiny from regulators.

2. Flash NetworksAcquires Adjungo Networks - Acquisition Expands Product Offering for Wireless WAN and WLAN Markets
