Maconomy Corporation, which offers Web-centric business software to the service industry, announced that it will use Nokia’s WAP server technology to develop solutions to automate the service industry.  Maconomy plans to integrate WAP technologies into its browser/Internet based Timesheet & Expense (T&E) report capture application.  This WAP based T&E will dramatically expand the flexibility and provide ease of access to corporate intranet.  By using WAP-enabled mobile phones, employees will be able to access and update project information on their corporate intranet, anytime, anywhere.  In addition, this initiative will include the release of the first fully integrated WAP T&E front end, for large service organizations.

MobileInfo Advisory and Comments :  It is interesting to see application developers take the approach of Palm Computing and automate simple tasks for the professionals - you do not always need complex multi-mega lines of software applications to do simple applications. We encourage simple solutions to simple problems. There is enough complexity introduced by the big software developers.
