January 5 – Oracle Licenses Nettech Systems Mobile Middleware to Enhance Future Mobile Application Development

Nettech Systems, Inc., the leading provider of mobile middleware, announced that Oracle Corporation, provider of e-business solutions, has licensed Nettech’s mobile middleware to support future development of mobile applications.

Currently software vendors and IT organizations worldwide are using Nettech’s middleware to wirelessly enable their applications and to support their wide range of mobile computers and devices.   For Oracle it is an opportunity to utilize Nettech’s middleware (technology) in the development of future e-business mobile solutions to meet its customers diverse mobility needs.

Oracle should be commended on relinquishing its "Mobile Agents" software as wireless transport middleware. This will enable Oracle applications run under many different wireless networks - let them concentrate on what they are get at - database and application integration. They can do a lot to optimize the data retrieval speed from their databases. Let the big guys accept and support the niche players with good technology.
